Eight Lives Lost as Floods Ravage Multiple Provinces in Afghanistan

Kabul: The Taliban’s Natural Disasters Authority announced that recent heavy rains and flooding over the past three days have killed at least eight people and injured three others in Afghanistan.
Janan Saiq, a Taliban spokesperson for the department, said Monday that the floods damaged or destroyed 140 homes.
According to Saiq, the natural disasters struck the provinces of Kandahar, Nuristan, Badghis, Ghor, Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak, Herat, Samangan, Panjshir, Laghman, Kunar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Sar-e Pol, and Parwan, causing extensive damage and loss.
He added that the floods destroyed 20 jeribs (approximately 10 acres) of farmland and 20 kilometers (about 12 miles) of roads, and nearly 30 livestock were lost due to the recent heavy rains and flooding.
